BCHU Fact sheet

1. In 2009 BCHU had approximately 900 members in 12 Chapters

2. Agencies BCHU work with include but are not limited to
 a. US Forest Service
 b. Utah Dept Wildlife and Natural Resources
 c. Utah State Parks
 d. National Park Service
 e. Bureau Land Management
 f. US Fish and Wildlife

3. Hours of public service performed in 2009 more than 22000 hours saving taxpayers over $275,000.00

4. BCHU performs extensive training and certification in Leave No Trace. BCHU has a minimum of 20 members certified Train the Trainer

5. Several BCHU members also serve on other public committees

6. Public pack clinics, informational sessions, expos, and extravaganzas hosted andassisted

7. Types of projects we perform but are not limited to
  a. Trail head development and maintenance
  b. Trail clearing, cleaning, and maintenance
  c. Weed abatement
  d. Fence building and repair
  e. New trail construction
  f. Packers and horses supplied for hauling in equipment and materials to support other projects performed by State and Federal Agencies
  g. Assists in Wildlife studies
  h. GPS mapping of trails

8. BCHU members also participates in several Parades across Utah

9. BCHU supports, works with, and develops the youth in Utah to respect the wildlife and wilderness in Utah and to have the proper etiquette when in the wilderness
