Keep Track Of Your Volunteer Hours for Service Projects

Please remember - As we get into our service projects,
keep track (and turn in) the service hours you and your
horse put into this effort AND don't forget to track your mileage.
Turn this information in to Who ever is in Charge of Chapter Volunteer Hours. All of this information is
submitted to the State and National organizations and
becomes powerful leverage with land management
agencies as they consider equine access to back country trails.
I know this sounds pretty altruistic and far removed
for some of our members but I can guarantee
that the issues are close to home and our influence
counts more than you realize. It is important to remember that
the primary purpose of BCHA is to be a service organization - not just a riding club - though we are that too.

WHAT"S BACK COUNTRY HORSEMEN ALL ABOUT?

The Back Country Horsemen of Utah is a non-profit organization presently consisting of twelve local Chapters spread across the state. We work with public land administrators and have developed relationships to assist them in making decisions for the good of all stock users.

We will be glad to provide more information about our activities and involvement in the decision making process that affects our ability to ride, pack and camp in the places of our choice.

Many important decisions have been made without input from horsemen. Decisions will continue to be made without us, often with input from those who prefer not to see horses or mules on any trail or in any of the back country areas.

Don't you agree it's about time we all get involved?
