Many important decisions have been made without input from horsemen. They will continue, however, to be made without us. Often with input from those who prefer not to see horses or mules on any trail or in any of the back country areas.

Don't you agree it's about time we all get involved?

Say That Again!

The Back Country Horsemen of Utah is a non-profit organization presently consisting of twelve local Chapters spread across the state. We work with public land administrators and have developed relationships to assist them in making decisions for the good of all stock users.

For more on horse education, the Education Page is very helpful.

The State Organization page is really helpful as well.

The Units page has a map of the chapters and links to their home pages.

We will be glad to provide more information about our activities and involvement in the decision making process that affects our ability to ride, pack and camp in the places of our choice.

Do you want to keep public lands and trails open for equestrian use in years to come? It's up to you! Back Country Horsemen of America was formed with a three-fold purpose: to volunteer service in the backcountry, to educate horsemen on minimum impact horse handling, and to get involved in public land use planning.

Looking for trails? Need directions on how to get to some trails? Utah Horse Trails submitted by members has all the answers. The level of difficulty, terrain, features, hazards, and camping site information is included.
